A few weeks ago I reported that the peak daily Medallion views had reached 750,000 and predicted that they would reach 1,000,000 in July.

Some very good news — at the end of the June we had three days with >1,000,000 Medallion views!

  • June 28: 1,087,353
  • June 29: 1,112,953
  • June 30: 1,120,967

Why do these numbers matter?

As Kachingle and other companies and organizations create the market for crowdfunding and social payments, what’s most important is to notify the world that the ability to support digital content through voluntary micropayments exists and to encourage people to think about doing so.

Can an individual really change their world?

Even an individual person with just $5 a month can change their world by making “social payments” to the digital stuff they love — but only if others eventually join in too.

How do we make “social payments” become a “social norm”?

Our primary goal, here at the beginning of this new era in “social payments” is to raise awareness.

We do this by having a live product (and our Medallion widgets) out there for content and service creators to place on their sites. That action itself increases awareness because every time someone see the Kachingle Medallion it becomes more familiar.

We believe that creating this new social norm will take time, as well as many exposures to the concept and opportunity, before people start making “social payments” part of their life — in the same way that tipping at a restaurant in the U.S. is the social norm.

Therefore our initial goal with Kachingle is to get our Medallion in front of as many people as possible, again and again and again.

Many thanks to our early adopters!

We very much thank and appreciate our early adopters who placed the Medallion(s) on their sites, music, videos, discussion boards, applications, wikis and podcasts!
