We’ve been accumulating payments now for several months, but today we actually paid real money to our first sites! There is a threshold of $50 for a Pay-Out to occur — this is because PayPal imposes a 2% fee ($1) on each masspay transaction going out. And we had to pay about 9% for the Pay-In so the overall PayPal transaction fee is a bit over 10%! It’s steep because PayPal does not handle micropayments well… but we expect that to change with their focus on PayPal X. For more details read our blog post “Kachingle Transaction Fees Explained“.
The first two sites to get their Pay-Outs do belong to company employees since we installed the Medallion the day the beta went live last November. But tomorrow real sites (that is, not owned by employees) will be getting real Pay-Outs.
Anyway, here’s the two Pay-Out screens for the two sites that got paid today, and below them is the description of terms. Each site has a Pay-Out statement page like these.
